THE NIGERIAN YOUTHS AND DESTINY (Second Part).

Thanks for spending your costly time in the reading my first article on the Nigerian Youths and Destiny. While we continue with the second part, I sincerely hope that reading this second article won’t be a waste of time. Continuing in our discussion ‘Things that have the tendency to destroy one’s destiny’.

PRIDE AND LACK OF PATIENTS: Pride is a disdainful behavior or treatment, insolence or arrogance of demeanor. Pride is one of the acts that pull all men down. The sub meaning of pride include: arrogance, haughty, disrespect, lack of honor, the act of despising one’s belief or achievements, looking down on subordinates, inordinate self-esteem etc. These unpleasing attitude is an attack to one’s destiny.

Most of the Nigerian youths today really do not want to follow protocols of achieving things the right way because they’re so eager to get rich quick and fast. They wouldn’t want to go through some rigorous training that will make them achieve some beautiful things; they have looked down upon the various kinds of jobs that helps them to prepare their dreams, rather they jump into many bad businesses that ends up terminating their lives or smuggling their destinies into the prisons.

Some go into these businesses because they want to show their stolen gadgets on the internet for the world to see, they want to post the pictures of themselves on Instagram to get likes, flirt with ladies and live all manner of ill-kind vanity lifestyle. One thing is common between these set of youths, they lack common sense. They spend lavishly, they don’t care about their future, whether they will go broke or not; they don’t have savings. Of course you can't save up a huge amount of money in the bank if the source of your riches is illegal.

The lack of patients has really dealt with our youths, many of the youths don’t want to take it easy, they believe it’s all about money therefore putting their integrity at risk and questionable. Riches gathered without integrity is useless. What’s the benefits of spending your money at the same time hiding from the financial crime prosecutors? You won’t enjoy such riches.

Are there things to do to stop this kinds of attitude from destroying one’s destiny? Yes! The very first thing to consider is your reputation! What do people think about you? Can someone entrust into your hands a huge amount of money and know it would be safe in your hands? If not, then you need to work on building yourself a good name, work on your integrity and reputation, then think about giving Nigeria a good name rather than exposing our nation as highly corrupt in the international community, then you need to believe and trust in yourself.

The Nigerian youths are one of the smartest youths we have in the world, I know this because our youths are doing big things in the schools overseas. They have the best brains to think, they’ll be the best if you train them but unfortunately our government don’t invest much on youth’s development, but we need to forgive the government and do the right thing for ourselves.

My fellow youths, it’s still possible to make quick money in a responsible way, not by scamming people. Youths should put themselves in the shoes of whoever they want to scam and preserve their dignity and that of our nation too. What about if our youths can engage themselves into critical thinking and bring out ideas that they can execute even without the need of capital. Instead of scamming the international communities, we could still use the same level of intelligence to research about what the international communities have that we don’t and establish it here in our nation; you will barely have competitors in that business and make billions from it. What if we could think of a business that never existed which will solve certain problems in our nation and the world at large, these kind of innovative thinking can put a large amount of money in our banks account bigger than scammed money and possibly reduce the rate of unemployment in our nation. Scamming people can’t make one rich; it destroys people. Just humble yourself and be patient, weeping may last for the night but joy comes in the morning.

LIVING AN IRRESPONSIBLE LIFESTYLE: This particularly have destroyed the lives of many, not just youths. This kind of life goes against the law of the land. What benefit is it to waste many years in jail because of a crime that would been avoided? Why stealing, killing your fellow human being, raping, cheating your business partner, even cheating on your spouse, scamming people, drinking and smoking excessively? Have our youths ever asked themselves if the crime they commit is really worth it. Common guys, we can live responsibly and still have a lot to achieve for our lives.

An irresponsible lifestyle only brings damages to us. When we fight one another, we either get injured or get killed as the case may be; if we get drunk while driving, we can have a fatal accident and die; if we cheat on your good spouse, you can get a divorce; if you dishonor your father, you can lose his blessings; if we scam people, we must get caught and be jailed, and still counting. I mean, what gain can we possibly have when we live irresponsibly? Nothing! When someone lives his life just to get bad ends, don’t you think he's stupid?

Our youths crave for political power but how many of them can be a worthy leader we have longed for? Charity they said begins at home, for we to lead others, we have to be sure of ourselves too.

Dear Nigerian youths, let us engage in critical thinking to create things that will improve our nation. Be diligent anywhere you find yourselves, work hard to protect the image of our nation, don’t just earn salaries, work to improve your boss’s firm and someone will also work hard to improve yours too. Let’s get our hands off any form of scam or crime and think of better businesses.

May God bless the Nigerian Youths and grant them the wisdom to think and become useful to our nation.
